The historic house, museum and library of distinguished 19th century architect Sir John Soane. At Soane’s request, the house has been left untouched since his death – almost 180 years ago.
The Museum is available to hire with a tour before or after it closes to the public, any day of the week.
Visit the Dome area, where you’ll see architectural fragments, casts, and the 3,000 year-old sarcophagus of an ancient Egyptian king, before seeing the famous Picture Room. With paintings by Canaletto, Hogarth and Turner, the walls swing open – to reveal dozens more paintings underneath.
